EDUCATION
A jam-packed and exciting education program has been set for Congress ’08.
To mark the beginning of an Olympic year our theme “Going for Gold” will reflect on how we, as future health professionals, can achieve gold standards in healthcare in terms of the role we play, the pharmacies we will manage and the advice we give.
Our workshops will look at the challenges to our profession today and new opportunities appearing on the horizon.
Issues that will be explored include the provision of non-prescription medications, motivational counselling and how to achieve optimal health outcomes, the media and its ability to shape perceptions of the pharmacy profession and the rise of online pharmacies. Workshops will also look at achieving gold standards in rural and indigenous health care, models of pharmacy and industrial affairs.
Workshops will be run throughout congress and will consist of seminar-style lectures from speakers from all parts of the profession. A combination of debates, open mics and forums will be held during each session.
Congress ’08 will also be holding heats and the final of the NAPSA Congress Pharmacy Student of the Year (PSOTY) competition, the winner of which obtains wildcard entry to the national finals later in 2008.
